the other side of okay

“She's becoming a constant in the equation of my life. The equation that morphs and erases, fails and is full of holes”

Rylan Bennet is every version of himself that he has ever been, and he hurts for the boy holding the blade. He finds it’s easier to have no one in his corner than someone who might one day turn on him and hurt him, or at least that’s what he tells himself when the world starts to crush him and he has no one there by his side. When he looks at the night sky, he sees the space between every bright object, the vastness that swallows everything whole. But when he meets Dalton McGuire, it is the beginning of something supermassive.

Dalton intimately knows pain, and he’s spent years dancing with ambiguous grief. When his best friend flees this world, and his dad practically follows closely after, Dalton should feel lonely. But he throws himself into relationships to drown out the chaos inside his head. Each boy’s strategy works until it doesn’t, until they collide with each other at great speeds and realize their lives can hold so much more. Will the two boys find something enchanting in the palm of each other’s hands as they find their pasts inexplicably tied together or does fate have something a little more sinister in store for them?
